Added a bunch of new shots taken with the new Canon 5D MkII. Please let me know what you think. I have also been renting/borrowing a few Canon lenses to try out - Canon 17-40 f/4 L, Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS and the Canon 100-400 f/4-f5.6 L IS. If you have any lens recommendations let me know.

I finally made the leap from film to digital! Today I bought a Canon 5D Mark II and it's beautiful! I'll be adding a couple new lenses in the months to come. The decision came down to money. The cost of shooting film is not worth the benefits. I calculated the cost per shot of 6x7 film. When processing is included it comes out to $1.57 per shot. Over time that turns into real money. While it's kind of sad to retire the Pentax 67II, I'm sure I'll produce some great shots with the new Canon. I couldn't be happier with the new setup!

The latest shots are from San Simeon where I shot my favorite pier, Garrapata State Park in Carmel, Big Basin State Park and some seascape shots from Half Moon Bay, CA.

New updates include some shots of a recent "fall colors" trip to the Eastern Sierras in the last week of September 2008. Unfortunately I was about a week early for the peak colors. Last year I visited on the 2nd week in October and was about a week late. So I jumped the gun this year. BUT I think I got a few good shots anyway. Enjoy.

If you haven't noticed my site has been down for a while. My domain "tomgrubbe.com" expired on 3-26-2008 and I've been trying to get it back for the last six months! tomgrubbe.com was originally registered with Melbourne IT Ltd. through an old ISP which went out of business. It's been sheer hell trying to get it back. The business practices at Melbourne IT Ltd. are appalling. Don't even consider registering your domain there. Anyway, six months and a bunch of $$$ later it's finally back in my possession with another registrar and hopefully will stay there. I truly apologize for the down time.
