Title
Mesquite Sunrise I
Description
The day before I took this shot of Death Valley's Mesquite Dunes there was a raging sand storm with wind gust up to 70 mph that lasted into the night. The next morning it was still very windy so I decided to head up the west side of the dunes to be upwind, and also so I could catch the blowing sand in the light coming from the east. It's a kind of weird comp but does convey the conditions fairly well.

Mesquite Sunrise III
Description
Another favorite shot from Death Valley's Mesquite Dunes after a sand storm hit. That's another photographer who slowly made his way toward to tallest dune from the east (I was on the western side). I was taking shots of him the whole way in order to show scale and knew exactly where he was headed. There were at least two others headed the same way but this guy was making good time - probably because he hardly had any gear. Anyway, I have no idea who this was but I appreciate the fact that he was there.
